The Biography of Marie Curie

 Introduction:

Marie Curie was a brilliant scientist who made groundbreaking discoveries in radioactivity. She was the first women to win a Nobel Prize and was the only person to win the Nobel Prize twice in two different scientific fields. Physics and Chemistry. Curies work profoundly impacted our understanding of the universe and led to many important advances in medicine and technology, including the invention of the X-ray machine.
Marie Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland,in 1867. She was a bright and curious child who had Excellent in school. However, Curie's life was not easy. She was the youngest of five children, and her family struggled to make end meet. When Curie was 10 year old, her sister had died of Typhus. Two years later, her mother died of Tuberculosis.

Hardships:

Despite these hardships, curie was determined to get a good education. She moved to Paris to study at the Sorbonne University, where she meet her husband, Pierre Curie. The Curie worked together on radioactivity, and they made many important discoveries. In 1898, they discovered two new elements:radium and polonium.Radium is a highly radioactive element with many medical uses, such as cancer treatment.

World Ward 1:

During World War 1, Marie Curie used her knowledge of radioactivity to develop X-RAY machines that could be used to diagnose and treat wounded soldiers. She also trained other women to use X-RAY machines and helped establish mobile X-ray units to be brought to the front lines of war to treat wounded and sick soldiers. Curie's work saved the lives of many soldiers during the war.

Challenges:

Curie had faced many challenges. In 1906 ,her husband was killed in a tragic accident, but she continued his work. She also faced discrimination as a women in sciences. However, Curie never gave up and continued to make important contributions to science until she died in 1934.

Financial Problems:

curie faced financial problems most of her life. She grew up in poverty and had to work hard to pay for her education.Even after she became a successful scientist, curie continued to struggle financially. She often had to work multiple jobs to support herself and her children.
According to some accounts Marie Curie often put a stack of books on herself to stay warm. She used to spend most winter hours working in her laboratory, which was warmer than in her apartment.
The Curie's financial situation improved after they won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1903. However, they still lived relatively modestly and continued working long hours in their laboratory.
As a Mother.
Curie had two daughters, Irene and Eve. She was a devoted mother, but she also had a demanding career. She often struggled to balance her work and family life .Curie's role as a mother was not always easy while she was traveling frequently for work and often away from her daughters for long periods. She also had to deal with challenges of being a single mother after her husband died in 1906 . Despite the challenges, curie had been a loving and devoted mother. She raised her daughters to be successful and independent women.

 Work Materials:

Curie worked with radioactive throughout her caraeer .Whilw conducting her experiments, she was exposed to radiation and carried radioactive materials in her pockets . At a time ,there was a little awareness of the dangers of radiation, curie did not take  adequate precautions to protect  herself.

Death:

Marie Curie died of  Leukaemia in 1934 at the age of 66. Leukaemia ia atyoe of Cancer that affectes the blood cells. Curie's exposure to radiation is belived to have caused her Leukaemia.
Curie's death was a tragedy, but her work profoundly impacted our understanding of the universe and led to many important advances in medicine and technology. She is remembered as one of the greatest scientists of all time.
